Castle ruins Choustník can be found in the same city. They are available for tourists, as it is considered safe. In a fortified tower even has a viewing platform from which you can make beautiful pictures of the surrounding area.

A Benes, who in documents of the end of the XIII century and was mentioned as Benes Choustník, in 1262 concluded with the Czech king přemysl Otakar II mutually beneficial deal. Benes gave the king their possessions in poděbrady, and he got in the South, in the territory of which there were and mountain Choustník, seemed to the new landowner convenient place for future residence. Soon there appeared a compact castle, fully furnished and habitable to 1282.

Heirs Benes – his two sons – decided to differentiate the castle, because the construction of the second Palace of the funds they had. So they rebuilt the fortress in such a way that it became a "double" or "split", which is a rarity in the Czech Republic.

In 1322, the castle was owned by the Panov Rosenberg, who did not consider it as a residence. They lived here the Manager, who collected the dues from the nearest villages. However, the castle was maintained in good condition, as was in the border area and had to be ready to repel the enemy.

Often in the local tower prisoners languished, for example, prisoners of war, the supporters of the Taborites during the Hussite wars.

In 1597, the castle was sold to George Clamp, which didn't care about the purchased property. After some time the castle was abandoned and began to deteriorate. It has not tried to restore.
