Known throughout the former Soviet Union Botanical garden in Sukhumi has retained popularity among tourists visiting Abkhazia and in our days. The Botanical garden has a complex, but interesting story that began almost 200 years ago in the distant 1838. On the southern borders of Russia were numerous garrisons, one of them was in the fortress of Sukhum.
