Limni is a small port town in the North-Western part of the Greek island of Euboea, on the North Euboean Gulf, about 80 km from the city of Chalkis.

According to one version, Limni built on the site where in ancient times where the ancient city of Limni municipality referred to in the Comedy the famous Greek Comedy of Aristophanes "Peace" (though reliable data supporting this hypothesis, it has not been found).

Today Limni one of the most popular resorts of the island with excellent infrastructure. Descending through verdant slopes of the mountain range town with narrow streets and charming white houses, roofed with red tile (among which retains quite a lot of lovely old houses in neoclassical style), is an incredibly beautiful and comfortable. Here you will find many good hotels and comfortable apartments, as well as an abundance of cafes, tavernas and restaurants, most of which is concentrated in the waterfront district and, of course, a great beach.

To diversify the usual beach holiday sightseeing Limni and its environs. In the Limni worth a visit interesting Historical and ethnographic Museum, the Church of the Annunciation (1837) with an impressive marble bell tower (1879), the Church of Zoodochos Pigi and the skete of Saint Christodoulos (12th century). However, and just walk the streets of this picturesque town, and operable from the slopes of the hills magnificent panoramic views of the Bay will bring you a lot of fun. Definitely worth a visit situated about 10 km from Limni on the hillside Candylion among the pine forests of the famous Byzantine monastery of St. Nicholas, also known as the Galataki monastery, built in the 7th century on the ruins of the ancient temple. Special attention deserve the Hydrobiology Museum, scenic waterfalls near the village of Drymonas.
