All Saints Church built in 1884. Its walls are made of Inkerman stone, which is also machined and all its architectural elements, architraves, pilasters, cornices. White and shining temple looked very much like Russian uniform sailors. No wonder the author of the project and the Builder of the Church - captain Matthew S. Nich.
The architecture of the Church made in the style of old Russian Church architecture. The Central part of the Church is square in plan, surmounted by a high dome; the light was coming through the narrow Lancet Windows with stained glass. For its size the Church was small – 29, 5 x 8, 4 m.
All Saints Church, located opposite the Central market, is bordered to the old city cemetery. Its gates, which had been preserved until now, also made of white Inkerman stone and are a monument of architecture. The cemetery has many historical monuments. For many centuries were buried here eminent and honorable residents of Feodosia. These include and M. S. Nich, did not live only one year before the construction of the temple and buried near him.
The temple has existed for more than seven decades, has survived all the wars since the First world war, and revolutionary events. However, he failed to survive the period of Soviet power struggle with religion. In 1961, the building was declared unsafe and it was decided to destroy. However, the Church was very strong construction and destruction did not budge. It was decided to apply to military sappers, who secretly, under cover of night, turned white stone Church in a heap of ruins. In the same year, unable to survive the destruction of the Church, died last her priest, who was buried in the old cemetery.
The city cemetery was closed in 1978 due to the lack of space for burials. Gradually it was stolen, solarlease and destroyed.
Restoration work of All Saints Church commenced in 1992. Detailed design was made using old photographs and drawings by a group of architects. Temporary small temple placed in the utility room, built in 1903, where services were held. In 1999, through the efforts of the Dean of Mikhail Sytenko, construction work has commenced, which ended in 2003. From the ruins raised up a new Church, which turned out even more beautiful than its predecessor. Inside it was painted by a group of artists under the direction of Elena Macovei, analogues of these paintings in the history just isn't there: the temple walls are covered with a thin gold layer, and a gold background made painting.
When the temple opened the Theological school and a small Museum which develops due to the Board of Trustees of the "Save and remember", created in 2000. The Council actively participates in the improvement of the old city cemetery, in the nearest plans is the creation of the lapidary and the memorial. The cemetery will be held excursions, routes which will lead to the historic graves and monuments of famous people: physicians, public figures, pilots, sailors, teachers, common graves during the Civil war and the great Patriotic war.
