One of the most famous and popular attractions of the city of Feodosia is now the tower of St. Constantine. It has historical value as a monument of medieval architecture. The location of the tower is Jubilee Park, which is located near a large railway station.

This tower was erected in those days, when the city was ruled by the Genoese. It was in the 13th century. Before the new rulers of Kafa was the issue of strengthening the defense of the city. Before the rule of the Genoese, he was just surrounded rather by a deep ditch and rampart of earth. Later the Genoese reinforced the defence of wooden walls. One of them was given the name Constantine the First. He was considered a great Emperor. Constantine was canonized. Tower of Constantine was built in 1338, but in 1443 was rebuilt. It was still called Arsenalnaya tower, as there weapons were stored.

Currently the tower has only three walls. According to historians, the construction of the tower, when the gates open inward, was conceived from the very beginning of its construction. It was provided in case the enemy captured the fortress, then the tower would not be a trap for her defenders. The tower of St. Constantine built in two tiers with a rectangular base. This tower had its feature is the presence of musical - mounted loopholes.

At the top of the tower there were the battlements. They represented the teeth, which became a shelter for archers in battle. The battlements protected them from crossbowmen. In 1914 was carried out the restoration of these teeth. Theodosius had been specially invited for the restoration of the Italian masters.

In medieval times the tower rose high above the sea level. She stood majestically on the shore at the water. But in the 19th century there has been a lot of construction - built sea port and railway. The tower had to be shifted from water at 100 meters.

In 1475 the tower was built of stone, semi-circular fortification, called "Barbican", or, otherwise, a Turkish Bastion casemates. Currently the Bastion was turned into a dance floor, where take place disco. This is a very famous and popular club "Penny".
