Albertina is one of the most significant museums in the world, is located in the centre of Vienna. The Palace got its name from the founder of the collection of Duke albert of Saxe-Teschen (1738-1822). Here is one of the largest and most important graphical collections in the world (approximately 65,000 drawings and approximately 1 million old engravings, as well as more modern graphic works, photographs and architectural drawings. In addition to the graphics collection, the Museum recently acquired two unique collections of Impressionists of the early 20th century, some of which will be on permanent display. The Museum also frequently hosts temporary exhibitions.

The collection, which started to be created in 1776 by Duke albert von Sachsen-Teschenite includes such famous works as "the Hare" by dürer and his "praying Hands", the work of Rubens, Klimt, Picasso, Schiele and Cezanne.

In the permanent exhibition of the Albertina are the most interesting artistic work over the past 130 years: from French impressionism to German expressionism, Russian avant-garde and modernity. Monet "Pond with water lilies", Degas ' "Dancers" and "portrait of a girl" by Renoir, Chagall, Malevich, - such masterpieces presented to the eyes of visitors.

In 2008, for the indefinite storage was transferred to the Albertina collection of Batliner, consisting of works by Malevich, Goncharova, Picasso and many other outstanding artists.

Architectural collection includes about 50,000 plans and layouts, obtained mainly from the drawing Department of the Imperial court, from the collection of the works of Baron Philip von Stoha.
