The Church Of St. Ruprecht Vienna is the oldest temple. According to the legend it was built by order of Bishop Virgil in the eighth century on the site of the catacomb chapels. In her Foundation used the gray stone of the buildings of a Roman military camp.

The nave and the base of the tower date back to the IX century, but the Church was rebuilt several times. In the Church there are stained glass of the thirteenth century depicting the Crucifixion of Christ and the virgin Mary on the throne. Also preserved the miraculous statue of the virgin Mary (the so-called "Black Madonna"), which, according to legend, had been foretold by the Turkish invasion and plague.
