After the visit of the Patriarch of Moscow Alexy II with the participants of the battle of Stalingrad Mamaev Kurgan in June 1993, the idea of building the temple on the memorial ground. The place chosen for the temple, is near a mass grave of several thousand soldiers, two hundred meters from the monument "Motherland".

The Foundation of the Church was begun on the ninth of may 2002, after the annual (since 1997) of the procession with the icon of the Mother of God. Funds for the construction of the temple were exclusively from the donations of the population in 2004, to Cover day, was installed in the main dome. In 2005, the ninth of may, the Church was consecrated and opened to the public.

In 2006, the Cathedral of All Saints received a unique gift in the form of three icons handmade Astrakhan masters produced by the old technology. The interior of the temple is decorated with Golden chandeliers and the iconostasis, written by Lithuanian painter-artist Vladimir Saveliev.

White stone Church has a height of 38 meters and is visible in almost any area of Volgograd. Helmet-shaped dome made of titanium alloy, ordered in the Urals, symbolize warriors guarding the Russian land, complementing the memorial complex "Heroes of the Stalingrad battle", making the particle of the Orthodox faith at the Main height of Russia.

Near the temple is planned to build two towers, one of which will be majestic Peace Bell. And while on Mamayev Kurgan is posted peal of seven bells, cast in Voronezh, located near the temple.
