A modern sculpture Park in Vyborg was founded in the city centre, in the square at the corner of Station street and the Leningrad highway, not far from red square and the bus and train station.

In an unusual Park is home to nine of creative works made of granite. Their creators – members of the Vyborg sculpture Symposium 1988. This is "Wolf", made by the sculptor Victor p. Dimov, "the Singing stone" operation S. I. Aslamova, "seaside Holiday" and "Uliana" artist-sculptor Anatoly Mikhailovich Bogachev, "Song", performed by T. Tulevik, "Orpheus" artist-sculptor Yury Vladimirovich tonight, "Smith" Stanislav K. ZADOROZHNY, "Kneeling" – work graphics, painter, sculptor Yevgeny Fedorovich Marysheva, "Recreation" of the artist V. A. Polozova, "Builder" sculptor Lev Naumovich of Smorgon.

Work "Boy with cat" participant of the Symposium sculptor Lev, Ambercombie of Barutana was installed in the Park on the corner of the Promenade 40th anniversary of the Komsomol and the Leningrad prospectus. Until recently, there was the sculpture "Young fisherman", which is now lost (sculptor Mikko Hovi, 1924).

The Work Of The "Wave" N. N. Khromova in the form of granite image of a floating woman is at the sanatorium-preventorium of a shipyard in the village of Zimino.

In the choice of subjects for their works of sculptors helped familiarity with the artistic traditions of old Vyborg, with the nature of the Vyborg region, especially rocky terrain and water spaces. Human figures in some cases interpreted them in genre situations. The conventionality of the forms and their generalization emphasizes that the images do not represent the photographic impressions of nature, and are either interpreted the artistic image of a literary character or images of creativity, work, leisure.

Some of the monotony and the noticeable passivity of sitting, lying and kneeling figures, in addition, presents virtually no pedestals, in most cases, reduces their visual perception. Also a negative role in the formation of the Park was the fact that the square to the installation of the sculptures was not specifically trained for it. The work on the landscaping was not carried out even after the sculptors were placed randomly, without any pre-thought out plan. However, construction of new walkways, installed benches, broken flower beds, flower beds and additional landscaping could liven up and accentuate the overall colourful picture.

Despite this, Vyborg sculpture Symposium was a major event in the cultural and artistic life of the city, considering, mainly, the fact that the Park monuments and monumental sculpture for the last time Vyborg lost more than I found.
