On Peter's square, in Vyborg in June 2010, the opening of the monument to the companion and associate of Peter I, the prominent statesman and politician, commander, rear Admiral Fyodor Matveyevich Apraksin. The monument is located next to the Vyborg castle, the fortress bridge across the Strait that connects the Castle island and Peter's quay. It all started with a competition to design the best monument to the commander, which was announced in 2009. The winner of the Commission determined the work of sculptors E. B. Volkova, p. P. Vandysheva, V. P. Timonin, V. M. Carilina, A. S. Charkin. The height of the bronze bust is 4, 5 meters. It is installed on a granite pedestal, on one of the sides of which the inscription is a dedication to Apraksin. The figure facing the companion of Peter at Peter's mountain, where stands the monument to the Tsar-Creator Peter I.
The name of the count Apraksin is associated with many "victoriae" the Russian army in the Northern war. For the capture of Vyborg Fedor Apraxin was galavan the order of St. Andrew.

The right to access the monument Apraksin was given to Valery Serdyukov, Governor of Leningrad oblast and Vladimir Yakunin, the head of the company "Russian Railways" and the head of the Board of Trustees at the Center for national glory.
