The Japanese are so fond of noodles ramen that even dedicated to this dish a Museum. It opened in March 1994 and is located in Shin-Yokohama.
The Museum emerged through the initiative of the company Nissin Foods, which produces similar products. The opening of the Museum was timed to coincide with the 40th anniversary since the release of the company's first packaging fast noodles. The concept of the Museum is that in one place, visitors were able to try all kinds of dishes from noodle options and supplements thereto, to know her different tastes, collected from all over Japan. Wheat noodles in a broth or ramen, is a Chinese dish that is known since the middle ages and which was borrowed by the Japanese from their neighbors. In different regions of the country has its own traditions of cooking ramen. Especially popular noodles had in the port cities such as Yokohama.
In the Museum you can not only enjoy different noodle dishes, learn about its history, but also to participate in the process of cooking noodles on a special stand. The Museum consists of one ground floor and two underground. The exposition ground floor presents the history of ramen and utensils for cooking. In the dungeon recreated Japanese street in the middle of the twentieth century (Showa era), it contains an exact copy of the eight restaurants, which traditionally served ramen. In them and now you can order a plate of noodles with various ingredients – bean sprouts, seafood, mushrooms, bamboo shoots and vegetables. In these restaurants offer nine varieties of noodles, prepared according to traditional recipes.
The Museum also recreates the so-called old pastry shops of sweets, in which Japanese children usually bought Goodies, coming back from school.
