Bath Ostrowski are the first capital Spa building in the city of Zheleznovodsk. Baths is located in the square between the square named after V. I. Lenin and the train station. Its facade is covered ornate Arabic script, there is an inscription on which is registered the name and years – "Bath Ostrovsky. 1891-1893".
Their appearance, the construction is very similar to the Eastern Palace of the Sheikh. It was erected by St. Petersburg architect P. Y. Suzor. In the realization of this unusual project active participation also took the younger brother of the great Russian writer and playwright Mikhail N. Ostrovsky - the then Minister of state property of Russia. It is in his honor and was named the building of the hospital.
After M. N. Ostrovsky has approved the site for the construction of the spas, he organized in Zheleznovodsk a contest for the best project for the construction of baths, as a result he became interested in the idea of the architect P. Y. Suzor. Construction was led by mining engineer A. V. Conradi. Construction of the baths ended at the end of treatment season of 1893 Specialists are very appreciated of the building: technical and aesthetic qualities compared them with the best buildings of Europe.
In may 1894, the regional newspaper "the North Caucasus" reported the discovery in Zheleznovodsk new bath building. At the same time the new building it was decided to give the name of the Bath Ostrovsky. The facade is decorated with high Windows with Moorish arches, red horizontal stripes, unusual round metal dome, brightly shimmering in the sun, entrance columns and, of course, Arabic.
Bath Ostrovsky was rebuilt and modernized, and after 85 years were restored. They equipped a shower compartments, the water which came directly from the wells. In 1972, it hosted the opening of Zheleznovodsk balneotherapy mud baths, which to this day provides mineral and mud treatments all comers.
