Aarhus, the cultural capital of Jutland, famous for its beautiful historical sites. In the Central part of the city is the many unique museums, one of them is the Women's Museum.

The building, which now houses a Museum, was built in 1857. From 1941 to 1984, the building was occupied by police and only in the autumn of 1984 in the room was a display on the female subject. Each year the Women's Museum is visited by more than 42,000 visitors from around the world. In 1991, thanks to the local municipality, the Museum was renovated and in the same year the Museum was awarded the national status.

The Museum features two permanent exhibitions — "the Lives of women from prehistoric times to our days" and "the History of childhood girls and boys".
