70 kilometers from Astrakhan to village Altynzhar there is a monument of culture of the Kazakh people – mausoleum and Museum complex dedicated to the famous Kazakh kuishi - writer and performer of works for domra, Kurmangazy Sagyrbaev.

The pride of the Kazakh culture was born in 1819 in the family of a poor shepherd. Kurmangazy Sadyrbaev lived a difficult thorny life, full of trials and harassment from the powers that be, knew of the ignorant hatred of the envious and the cold damp casemates. His long wanderings in the Kazakh space, communication with representatives of many Nations are embodied in great works for domra, which he possessed in perfection. During his creative life kuishi Kurmangazy left for his disciples and admirers over a hundred musical works. Buried great tourist in the village Altynzhar, which translates as "Golden Yar (breakage)". Perhaps, this name is associated with the discoveries of gold in the ancient burials in this area. Here rests Kurmangazy.

In 1986 on the initiative of local teachers G. J. " the village Altynzhar with financial support from nearby farms and farm was built and inaugurated the Museum of the great Kazakh. In 1990, the Museum became a branch of the Astrakhan state United historical and architectural Museum-reserve. In 1996 over the grave of Kurmangazy was built of beautiful white mausoleum. In 2003, with the joint participation of Russia and Kazakhstan began construction of a cultural complex and a modern Museum building, now the new complex is an architectural ensemble of three buildings that mimic large white Yurt, and a huge hotel complex. It also opened a music school domra.
