Photo: tower of the winds
This antique building is close to Roman Agora. It was built in the II century B. C. the Tower is built by Syrian astronomer Andronikos Currentskin. The height of the octagonal tower is 12 meters and a diameter of 8 meters. On the outer frieze of the tower shows the eight winds in Athens. The weather vane is made in the form of a Triton.
Inside the tower is a state water clock (clepsydra), and on the walls outside are still visible sundial.
