Grand Palace is located on the beautiful square of Barcelona, the square of the King and is a complex consisting of several buildings. The Palace was built in the 11th century and for a long time existed, as the residence of the counts of Barcelona and later kings of Aragon.

The building of the Throne room (34 meters in length, 17 in width and 12 meters height) is the epitome of Catalan Gothic architecture of that time, and one of the clearest examples of the Gothic style in architecture in Europe.

Today in the premises of the Royal Grand Palace is a Museum Frederic Mares, as well as the Historical Museum of the city.
