The building of the red town hall was designed by G. F. Wesemael and built in 1869. Its walls are made of red brick, from which it got its name. Longest mural, located in the building called "History in stone" and tells about the history of the city, the development of its economy and science.

Red town Hall was badly damaged during the Second world war and was reconstructed in the 50-ies of XX century. Now here are the municipality and the government in Berlin.
