Holy Trinity Cathedral - the main temple of Dnepropetrovsk - 2010 165 years. It was built on the site of the first Church in the city. Wooden Church of small size, consecrated in January 1791, came forty years in disrepair, and the city merchants appealed to the famous St. Petersburg architects – the court architect Ludwig I. to Charlemagne-Bode and Peter Ivanovich Visconti, who in his time the Church of Dormition. In 1837 the place for the new Church was consecrated. In 60-ies of the 19th century before the Church, according to local architect, built a huge stone tower. In the future, between the Church and the bell tower is being built connecting the chapel, through which the size of the Church increases almost twice. Later were built the House of the parable, as well as a parochial school.
Extensive renovation works were carried out in the Church in the early 20th century. In the mid 30-ies the Church was converted into a warehouse, but in the early 40's has reopened its doors to parishioners. The second half of the 20th century marked the restoration work in the temple, which in our time has become particularly widespread. Occurs an impressive recovery of both internal and external decoration of the temple and surrounding area.
In the Cathedral to venerate the icon of the Holy Trinity; the icon of the Weeping Savior"; the icon of the Mother of God "Iveron", "Kazan", "it is truly meet", "Samara". Here are the crosses-reliquaries with relics of Orthodox saints. Services are held in the Cathedral every day. The special atmosphere of solemnity and tranquility that prevails in the Church, attracts a growing number of parishioners, especially during major religious holidays.
