In the historical centre of the city of Elabuga is a majestic three-storey University building, built in 1903. The author of the project of the institution was Vyatka architect Ivan Charushin.

In September 2003 at the main entrance was a monument to one of the representatives of the merchant dynasty, the son of an eminent citizen of the city - writer D. I. Stakheev. The authors of the monument are Moscow sculptors V. A. Demchenko and A. V. Golovachev. At the opening ceremony of the monument was attended by the descendants of Stakheev from England, Australia, Singapore and Russia.
