The small coastal town of Karavostasi is the main harbour of the island of Folegandros and one of its three main settlements. It is a picturesque resort village with typical Cycladic architecture of white houses with doors and shutters, traditionally painted with blue paint, and winding between them narrow streets.

In recent years, the tourist infrastructure of the city has undergone considerable change for the better thanks to an influx of tourists. Today in Karavostasi you will find a good selection of comfortable hotels and excellent accommodation as well as a lot of cozy restaurants, taverns and cafes where you can enjoy delicious local cuisine. In addition to the municipal beach is worth a visit located in the vicinity of Karavostasi gorgeous beaches Vardia, Livadi (with camping) and Katergo.

About 3-4 km from Karavostasi on a rocky cliff is the capital of the island Chora (also known as Folegandros), where you should definitely visit the old town – medieval Venetian fortress of Castro. Just above the Choirs on the hillside is one of the main attractions of the island – the Church of the virgin. Climbing on the top of the hill, you can enjoy stunning panoramic views of the coast.

In summer you can reach the island simply because there is a regular ferry service Karavostasi with Piraeus and other Islands of Cyclades. If you decide to visit Folegandros in the offseason, it should be noted that the ferry during this period goes only 2-3 times a week.
