Castle of Getting is a ruined castle in Getinge, located in the North-West Styria, Graz.

The castle was built in the 11th century, and the first mention of Getinge dates back to the year 1042, when the Emperor Henry III gave the land of count Gottfried. In 1050 Gottfried bequeathed Getting his brother Adalbero from würzburg. From that time until the 17th century the castle was in the possession of the princes, it was headed by Viscount.

In the 15th century, the castle was modernized: extended up to the fortress for protection against the Turks and Hungarians.

In 1707, the castle and surrounding lands were purchased by count Attesa. In mid-July, 1723 by an amazing coincidence, lightning struck the barn of gunpowder, resulting in a large part of the castle burned down. After the fire, the castle was not reconstructed, and the new residence of the family Attems built a new castle at the foot of the mountains.

Since 1999, the castle ruins and the surrounding forests are owned by the Baker family Auer. Today former castle has only three floors, the chapel of St. Anne, which is used for Church services. In the former tavern created a small Museum. The Museum and chapel are located on the territory of the second, the "Upper castle". Just West are the ruins of an old castle, which still is possible to define, where he had a Central entrance, moat and drawbridge. Once the castle was surrounded by a rampart with a palisade. The Northern part of the courtyard used for economic development. Still partially preserved water supply system.

The castle ruins are located a half hour walk from the centre of Restinga.
