If you look at a map of the environs of Trebic, you will notice a small village dam, which is of interest high turret mounted on its outskirts. 24, 5-meter tower in the Empire style was built of stone in 1831 on a Green Hill, the height of which is equal to 491 meters above sea level. It was built for surveyors, but over time began to use as a tourist facility. Funds for construction were allocated by local resident, who had a title of nobility and was engaged in scientific researches, – graph G. W. Haugwitz. So the tower was built on parkland, which was considered his property. Near the tower is a hunting cabin, where I often met friends of the owner.
The observation deck on its top are 105 steps, through which you will be able to observe the surroundings and make amazing beauty shots. Upstairs should be sturdy oak stairs. At a height of 18 meters is the room where you can catch your breath and relax a bit. Pay attention to the decoration of the ceiling of this room. It is decorated with frescoes depicting the zodiacal constellation.
Local historians say that the original tower, built by the Earl of Haugwitz, was much higher than what we see now. But during the move, the Austrian and Prussian troops during the conflict 1866 its upper floor was damaged, and the count decided not to finish building the tower, and leave it at that.
The tower of "Babel" since 1968 is under protection of the Czech state and is considered a significant local landmark.
