The city of Dobruska, which now has a population of about 7 thousand people, was formed long before its first mention in historical Chronicles. About it there is an entry in the account book, which suggests that Dobruska allowed to produce and sell beer. It is dated to 1320.

Settlement in the North-East of the Czech Republic appeared on the site of intersection of ancient trade routes. The townspeople quickly realized the advantages of its location in the city, so he built guest houses, restaurants – in short, did everything to itinerant merchants wanted to stay here longer. At the time, and was organized by the Central square, around which the city was built.

Dobruska gradually developed, expanded, therefore the XVI century, it was met by a large and crowded city, where he worked several factories producing textiles. Rich Industrialists did not forget about the city, invested money in it, contributed to its prosperity.

If you look at modern Dobrescu from height of bird's flight, you can see the elongated square, on which stands the main building of the city hall, built in the Renaissance style. Its interiors are kept very valuable paintings by local artist františek Kupka, who became a world celebrity. The town hall has a tower with an outdoor observation deck at the top. It is decorated with a large clock.

On the main square near the town hall is the plague column, praising the Heavens for deliverance from the plague.

In the old town you can also see the Church of St. Wenceslas, built in 1709-1724 years, and the Church of the Holy spirit.
