All Saints Church Photo: All Saints Church

In the upper part of Jachymov is the temple is consecrated in the name of All Saints, which the locals call the hospital, as it subsequently was attached to the hospital. This modest Church is the oldest timber-framed religious building in the Ore mountains. It was built in 1516 as a parish Church of the village of Conradson. At this point we have the most ancient architectural monument of the city, which have not changed significantly over many past centuries.

In 1530 next to the Church built a hospital, patients which fall on worship, passing through a special corridor connecting the building of the hospital and the Church. A little later near the temple was the tomb built intended for burials of deceased hospital patients. When the crypt was crowded, the dead were buried around the Church. Thus, around the Church of All Saints appeared first city cemetery.

The Church was on the verge of destruction, but rich people Jachymov in no hurry to invest in its repair. The priests and poor parishioners had to look for solutions to this problem. Once the correct amount of money was received from the sale of iron tombstone plaques. In the early twentieth century the cemetery wall leaned dangerously to the side of the temple and could fall at any moment, causing substantial damage to the building. It reinforced additional supports, thereby avoiding costly repairs.

The temple is currently valid, so you can get to it during worship.
