Avacha Bay, being one of the most beautiful and largest bays of Russia, is also considered a unique natural landmark the Far East. The Bay is located on the Pacific shore of the Kamchatka Peninsula. The width of the Bay at the entrance is 3 km, the depth is about 26 meters deep Into the land of Avacha Bay leaves for about 20 km.

It offers an amazing view of the volcano Avachinsky, Kamchatka and "the city Gates" - three rocks that rise out of the water and block the entrance to the Bay, thereby protecting the coast from the ravages of the tsunami. Second name rocks, which are a symbol of Avacha Bay - "Three brothers". According to the ancient legend in these parts lived three brave young men who defended the inhabitants of the coast from certain death during the huge tsunami, standing at the entrance to the Bay and in front of their bodies.

During the storm Avacha Bay serves as a protection and refuge for ships suitable here from around Avacha Bay. Here they can ride it out and go back to the ocean. From the North-West side of the Bay into two major rivers - Paratunka and Avacha that the confluence of a vast floodplain with many branches and Islands.

Avacha Bay is very popular for diving, boat trips and sea fishing.

Near the entrance to the Bay you can see a small piece of land called the island Starichkov. Devoid of trees rocky islet occupied by the birds. It was here, on the island Oldies, native colonies of pelagic and red-faced cormorant, Pacific and spectacled Guillemot, Pacific gull, Kittiwake, brunnich's Guillemot, common Guillemot, horned puffin and tufted puffin.
