Well-known factory of vintage wines and cognacs "Koktebel" is one of the striking sights of the Crimea, whose products are widely known and in great demand both in Ukraine and abroad.

Growing grapes and winemaking in Otuz valley practiced since ancient times, local wines were famous even in the times of Medieval Russia and the Khazar Kaganate. After the annexation of Crimea to the Russian Empire viticulture and winemaking in this region began to grow rapidly. By the end of the 19th century already had several major wine-growing economies Greene, St. George, etc. Due to the efforts of count Vorontsov, and then Prince Golitsyn, eventually managed to bring them to an industrial level.

After becoming in Crimea Soviet power in Koktebel valley was organized farm and several smaller wine growers ' cooperatives.
