Museum of international contemporary art Rufino Tamayo became a haven for thousands of creative works by contemporary authors. In addition there is a restaurant and a shop. The Museum building is located in Chapultepec Park in downtown Mexico city.
Designed and supervised the construction of the Museum building two architects. - Theodore Gonzalez de Leon and Abraham Zabludovsky. Upon completion of the work on this project both received the State prize of Mexico for architecture. The official opening of the Museum took place on 29 may 1981.
Now the Museum is part of the cultural complex, which also included the national Museum of anthropology and the State historical Museum.
