Belarusian state Museum of folk architecture and life is a Museum under the open sky, the so-called "Skansen". Such museums are created to show the historical Genesis in vivo. There is a Museum in the suburbs of Minsk, near the village strochisy. Part of the Museum is located in the floodplain of the Pripyat river and is a protected landscape area. Museum area is 220 hectares.
The exhibition includes six historical-ethnographic sectors: Lakeland, Dnieper region, Central region, Eastern and Western Polissia Ponimanie. The relief of each sector is as close to natural conditions of the location of settlements.
