Minsk state Museum of the history of medicine is one of the most interesting museums of Minsk. It was created on the initiative of the rector of the Minsk medical Institute Professor Gregory Hook.
The collection of the Museum collection of the history of medicine began in 1950-ies. As a result, the Museum's group of the Minsk medical Institute was a unique collection, telling about how developed the science of treatment of human rights from ancient times to the present day. The Museum contains prehistoric flint knives, bone needles, bronze tweezers, a stone pestle, lancets for bloodletting famous doctors of the middle ages. A separate exhibition of the Museum tell about the work of the sisters of mercy, field surgeons, doctors, whose work was a real feat. Four medic received the title of hero of the Soviet Union during the great Patriotic war: J. Klumov, Z. Tuscaloosa-Marchenko, N. Trojan, P. Buyko.
All the Museum has more than 33 thousand exhibits. Since 1994 the Museum was included into the European Association of museums of history of medical Sciences.
