Reserve "the land of the apes" was founded in 1998 by Tony Blignaut 16 km East of Plettenberg Bay, in an area of 12 hectares. This is the first Park with free-roaming primates became one of the famous and beloved attractions of the Valley gardens and the garden route. There are more than 550 monkeys 28 different species, including Gibbons, the monkey Howler, Verbeek, langurs Sakis, Capuchins, squirrel monkeys, spider monkeys, ring-tailed lemurs and endangered black and white lemurs.
Most of the primates of the reserve are born in captivity. Some before we found a house in the forest, lived with people as Pets, where they were kept mostly in the cells. Others were rejected by their mothers, as primates raised in isolation, rarely learn to nurture their young. After rehabilitation center these animals were again members of their own species and, ultimately, came together with his family group. Many of the 28 species of the reserve are endangered, mainly due to the reduction of habitat due to deforestation and poaching.

Here visitors are offered a tour of the suspended trail, which offers amazing views of the dense forest from the treetops. This unique suspension trail - the only one of its kind in Africa. Crossing a bridge, most likely, you will see Gibbons and hear their shouts and incomparable song black-and-white lemurs vari.
