The collection of the Bavarian National Museum originates from 1885 exhibition in the fortress of Duke max, the area which soon proved to be too narrow. Requirements then to the historical Museum were a fantasy fulfilled by architect Gabriel von Seidl in life. The interior is built in 1894-1900, the Museum complex stylistically the same era, whose works are exhibited in the halls, and the appearance on the architectural forms and style of construction is just the opposite of the internal contents.

The exposition of the Museum consists of two major collections: folk arts and crafts and art history. In the Department of applied art are exhibited crystal products, furniture, Christmas scenes with numerous characters. Upstairs: German porcelain, clocks, paintings on glass, ivory, textiles and gold jewelry.
