The Cathedral of Holy Trinity – one of the main temples of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky and is the only Cathedral in the city. It is located on a hill near the Central highway of the city.

The decision to build the Church was taken in August 1999 at the diocesan meeting of the clergy of the diocese of Kamchatka. The project of the Cathedral was designed by architect Oleg Lukomsky, which in addition to the construction of the temple with two or three chapels included the reconstruction of the temple of St. Nicholas, the construction of the diocesan office, chapel and other premises that constitute a single complex - Kremlin Petropavlovsk.

In the first half of 2000 was created by the Board of Trustees on the construction of the temple. Honorary President of the Council elected Patriarch of Moscow and all Russia Alexy II. In September 2001, at the construction site of the Cathedral of Holy Trinity Bishop Peter and Paul Ignatius celebrated the first divine Liturgy. At the same time, construction work has commenced. In June 2002, to celebrate the Holy Trinity, the solemn laying of the first brick in the Foundation of the Cathedral, a steel capsule containing the relics of saints Vilna martyrs John, Anthony, Eustathius and Mortgage certificates.

Majestic two-story Cathedral of Holy Trinity is made in the ancient Russian architectural style. Temple with a height of 42 m is able to withstand an earthquake of 10 points. The Church can accommodate up to 3 thousand people. In may 2007, were installed in the dome.

The first 6 years of the construction of the Cathedral was conducted with funds donated by parishioners. In further financing of the project took the company "Gazprom". Major work on the construction of the temple was completed by September 2010, after which work began on the Cathedral's murals and landscaping of the adjacent territory.
