Merchant house of the Hill was built in 1762. brick after the fire of 1760 destroyed in the city all wooden buildings.
In the house of a merchant of the Hill you can see the decoration and being this wealthy family, living in it at the end of the XVII century.
Residential rooms and spaces located on the upper floors of the house, and at the bottom were used for trade and outsourcing. The loft was reserved for servants.
In the early XIX century. The house of the Hill bakeries were open. In 1919. the building was bought by the Museum.
Currently on the ground floor regularly hosts exhibitions with a regularly changing exhibition. To the property of the Museum also includes two other houses and several outbuildings such as a pigsty, carriage house, barns, etc. However, in these buildings access for tourists is closed.
