The Church Of St. Catherine, which has been preserved until our time, was expanded and rebuilt in the XIV century, also in the monastery was constructed rooms for the monks. In the XV century in the town of Ribe had about ten churches of different religious orders, monasteries, almshouses, hospitals, asylums, and were present with them at school. After the reformation in the city there was only one monastery with Church and Cathedral. The Abbey remained valid, since there was housed a hospital, and the Church became a Protestant parish.

The interior of the Church is quite modest: a simple whitewashed walls, plain wooden benches, arranged neatly in rows. Stands out beautiful gilded altarpiece, the pulpit in Renaissance style and a few tombstones. In the Church there is a large body.
