All Saints Church in Sevastopol – this is the oldest building of the city, located in a Rustic beam at the former city cemetery on the street Pozharova, 9-a. Temple holiday – 6th June.
The Church was erected in 1822, with funding from the Vice-Admiral F. T. Bicanski, which after his death was there and was buried. The Church was designed in the classical style. The Foundation of the temple presents a cross-domed volume with a semicircular apse in the Eastern part, accomplished by a light drum and dome. To the volume of adjacent cross-shaped refectory. The bell tower of the Church bunk, oval, surmounted by a spire. The main entrance to the temple is located in the West facade and two side - North and South. The Western facade was decorated with a triangular pediment, a Central entrance with pilasters.
During the siege of Sevastopol 1854-55 Church took French and Turkish troops, who stole all the Church property and made it stable. After the war the Church was restored by the merchant Ivan Pikin. The consecration of the Shrine took place in October 1859 by FR Arseny Lebedintsev. In 1901 at the Church of All Saints parochial school.
During the great Patriotic war the building of the temple miraculously survived. Since 1985, the Church declared a monument of architecture of local importance, in 1990-1995 it repaired: restored columns, cut off the roof and dome. The walls of the Church, the iconostasis and several cases have been re-painted by Moscow artists.
Long time Church of All Saints was the only active Church in Sebastopol. Now in all saints Church holds regular worship services. Parishioners come to pray before the icons, illuminated by the light of unquenchable Holy fire from the Holy sepulchre, brought from Jerusalem, and to venerate the Holy relics. The Church has a library and a Sunday school for adults and children.
