Tiran island attracts many tourists and is a hallmark of Egypt. The island is located between Egypt and Saudi Arabia, at the mouth of the Gulf of Aqaba. The tyrant is near the popular resort city of Sharm El Sheikh and geographically belongs to the Republic of Egypt.

In the 6th century BC there was an independent Jewish Principality Yotvat (Iotv). A Jewish Principality had at its disposal a solid fleet, as well as established economic relations with Egypt, Arabia and Ethiopia. After the Principality became part of the Byzantine Empire.

The island played a historic role in the beginning of the conflict in 1955, when Egypt banned the Israeli ships to pass through the Strait of Tiran. On the island itself and several nearby military bases were located, controlling the Strait. Also founded a naval base in the city of Sharm El-Sheikh.

Today the only inhabitants of Tirana are soldiers from the military base of the United Nations. Beautiful nature sea plume between Tiran island and the Sinai Peninsula presents the most beautiful coral reefs under the names Woodhouse, Thomas, Jackson and Gordon, named after British officers, who devoted a lot of time studying them. These reefs, which attract tourists from all over the world who come here to go diving.

The underwater world of the island is famous for its extraordinary beauty and in our days is one of the most interesting in Egypt. In the waters of the Straits of Tiran is home to many fish. Here are often organized excursions, one of them has the name "Pirate Boat".
