Sioni Cathedral (assumption Cathedral) is one of the most famous architectural structures in the Old town Tbilisi. According to legend, the first Church on this place was built during the reign of the king of Iberia, Vakhtang I of Gorgasali.

Sioni has a very modest and discreet appearance. Its architectural style is different from classic medieval Georgian churches and, most likely, like a strict religious buildings, which contain no elements.
