Castle of Kladruby nad Labem appeared at the local stud farm, which is considered the oldest in the world. It still works, takes tourists and is a highly respected school, which experts shall provide advice to numerous farms for the breeding of different breeds of horses.
The founder of the stud is considered to be the Emperor Rudolf II, who commissioned the local workers to put the Prague court of the horses of the Spanish breed. The Emperor was fond of a man who always sought to control the execution of their orders. So he often came to Kladruby nad Labem. During these visits, not to experience discomfort, he laid the castle in the Renaissance style. The castle was built in 1588, it is 9 years later than the stud. Two-storey mansion, which adjoined the temple, was intended not only for the Emperor, but for his retinue. It contained a lot of guest rooms, a spacious wine cellar and utility room for storage of supplies. In the eighteenth century for the reconstruction of the castle were invited famous architects F. M. Kanka and K. I. Dienzenhofer. They put all their strength to attack the castle, rebuilt in the Baroque character was liveable.
Nowadays the castle is a Museum dedicated to horse breeding. In the historical interiors located exhibition, telling about the history of the stud farm. Here you can see the valuable documents from the archives of the farm for breeding horses, saddles, which for several hundred years, a jeweled harness and much more. After visiting the Museum you can ride quiet horses.
