"Central Balkan" national Park, located in the heart of Bulgaria, namely in the Central and highest part of the mountain range of Stara Planina, the locals usually call it the Balkans. In this area is under the protection of rare richness of forest landscapes, animals and vegetation, as well as historical monuments of world importance.

The highest place of this national Park is considered the peak of Botev (reaches 2376 m) and the lowest point is located near the town of Karlovo (500 m above sea level).

The area of the Park takes about 72 000 ha, partially covers the five areas of the Central city which Lovech, Gabrovo, Stara Zagora, Plovdiv and Sofia. The national Park includes 9 natural reserves such as the "Boatin", "dzhendema", "Tsarichina", "Singing rock", "Goat wall", "Steneto", "South gendem", "Socola" and "Old river". Eight of these reserves (except "Goat wall") and the Park "Central Balkan" is listed in the world heritage list of UNESCO nature. And the territory "Boatin", "Tsarichina", "Jendema and Steneto" recognized biosphere reserves. "Central Balkan" in 2003, became a member of the European PAN Parks Foundation, and in 2004 was awarded the certificate of this network because I got high score for the preservation of natural resources and care for them.

Visitors to the Park especially love to walk in the "North" and "South Gandamu", "Singing rocks", and also popular is the waterfall called "Paradise sprinkled" (which means "Paradise splash").

This national Park is fighting for the preservation of surprises with its variety of vegetation. There are about 2340 species and subspecies of flora. Of these, 1,900 species and subspecies belong to the higher plants and 15 species to the family of ferns.

Central Stara Planina is one of the nicest places to walk in the country. To attract tourists, there are special places for recreation and photography scenic vistas and attractions. In addition, routes for equestrian tourism, Biking, watching birds, flora and fauna, as well as a photo Safari routes.
