Entomological Museum at the Palace of Charter – one of the attractions of varaždin, which is simply impossible to avoid.

The building of the Palace was built in 1791 in the neoclassical style. On stone portal carved family crest of a noble family. Famous Hartery the fact that in the XVIII century, opened a successful business mail. Thanks to this family became one of the most wealthy and could afford to buy a noble title.

Today, the Palace holds a unique entomological collection of Professor Francisca COGECA, which is a permanent exhibition called "World of insects". Adapted and enlarged in the late 1920-ies, this exhibition is considered one of the best of its kind in Europe. This fact is also recognized not only the experts and interested visitors.

Guests of the exhibition will go through several thematic halls: "In the forest, In the forest and on the meadow", "In the water and on the beach", "Night" and "In the country". In total the collection consists of 4500 exhibits. In addition to the prepared exhibits at the exhibition you can see pictures, herbaria, increased several times certain kinds of insects and other objects from the personal collection of Professor COGECA. In addition, the collection also includes unique tools and instruments developed by Professor for the study of insects.
