Belvedere Palace – the summer residence of Prince Eugene of Savoy, the field Marshal, who saved Vienna from the Turks. In 1725, architect Lucas Hildebrandt finished building this "little Versailles".

The ensemble includes two palaces, the Upper and Lower Belvedere, United regular gardens, broken in the French style. Fountains, stairs, statues, vases, pools – all of this creates the impression of wealth and greatness. The magnificence of the interior, in the style of Baroque delights and suppresses.

Now in the Upper Belvedere is the Austrian gallery with an exhibition of art of the XIX-XX centuries. Here is exhibited the world's largest collection of works by Gustav Klimt. In the Lower Belvedere houses the Baroque Museum and the Museum of medieval art. Special attention deserves the Mirror Cabinet: this richly decorated room in the Baroque style with a statue of Prince Eugene of Savoy works Balthazar Permoser.
