Spirit Kruglik exhibition hall, a branch of the center of culture "Vitebsk". The tower was built in 2007 in the medieval style.
Why quadrangular tower is called "spirit Kruglik"? In the course of archaeological excavations in 1984 on the site of the lower castle of the XIV century Vitebsk, were found the remains of the Foundation once existed here watchtower, built in 1330-51 years. The tower was octagonal base, from a distance she looked round, and therefore received the nickname "Kruglik". Kruglik was opposite the Holy Wind of the Church, and therefore got the nickname "spook Kruglik".
Modern tower, square at the base 9, 2x9, 2 meters, the height of the tower of 27 meters, built of glass and concrete, has four levels, which are located on the Museum's exhibition halls. The author of the project architect Ruslan Lyadenko.
In the basement you can see discovered during excavations of the remains of the Foundation walls and original, not preserved spirit Kruglik. On the walls hang the portraits of the Grand Duke Olgerd and Princess Ulyana. Under these princes, and had erected the fortifications of the Lower City. On the second level there is an exhibition illustrating the history of Vitebsk of the late XIX – early XX. Basically consists of prints, drawings, paintings, maps and diagrams.
Upper floors has a spiral metal staircase, rising by which you can get acquainted with the exposition dedicated to the history of the "Slavic Bazaar". Photography competitions in different years, awards winners.
At the top is an observation deck, from where you can explore the beautiful surroundings of Vitebsk.
