The first mention of the Church of St. Michael the Archangel dates back to the end of the 15th century. Other information refer to 1772 – then the Church was built of wood and had two altars. The main altar was consecrated in honor of the Archangel Michael and the chapel dedicated to St. Catherine.
To date the appearance of the former Church were not preserved, because its existence ended on the night of the 6th to the 7th of December, 1812. The Church was almost completely burned down, but still preserved the Holy Antimension, which was consecrated and signed on 25 March 1772 by Metropolitan Gabriel.
In 1820, the restored Church was consecrated in the name of the Archangel Michael, after which it began operating, although the interior was still carried out finishing work. Fully the Church was completed in 1829. The new Church became a haven for the residents of the village of St. Michael. Also to the parish Church were attributed to the following villages: Zvanka, Duboviks, Branicevo, Borisova Slide, Kobeleva Slide, Transportation, Valim, Bargino, Boron and Thresholds.
There is evidence that the construction of the stone Church was spent 6600 rubles. The temple had 2 of the throne, the chief of which was dedicated to the Archangel Michael, and the second to St. Catherine.
According to archival documents 1846-1847, when the temple functioned parochial school, in which teachers were parish priests. 1903, Church school consisted of one class of the training course of 4 years.
Despite numerous crackdowns and measures against Orthodox belief in Soviet times, the Church of St. Michael the Archangel lasted until the late 1930's. At this time the deacon was Shibaev Basil, and a priest – Morzunov Nicholas. In the summer of July 11, 1938 the Church was closed, but instead was organized by the school of PVHO.
Throughout the great Patriotic war the building housed a pharmaceutical warehouse, and after him there was a workshop, a dairy plant and a warehouse of household chemicals. After completely eliminate the ecclesiastical parish, in the premises of stored hazardous chemicals and paint combustible materials, causing irreparable harm to the stone. In the chancel was built scale extension, designed to store raw material available – this design has slightly distorted the view inside the building and in General the whole plan.
In 1984 the warehouse of a chemical factory was moved to another location, and the construction of an extension liquidated due to the strong decay. Later the temple, the building was in complete disrepair, because there was no heating, no guards, and destroyed it with incredible speed. There are photos of 1985, which illustrate destroyed the dome and bell tower, all floors completely lost that mostly affected the impressive part of the sanctuary space (the cupola).
In the summer of 1988, in the ruined temple was sent a new rector Yachimec Andrew, who previously served at the Cathedral of the Nativity of our lady of the lake. This man was able to gather a new community, the registration of which was held in 1991. The primary task of the Church was the restoration and revival of the Church of the Archangel Michael. March 22, 1992 in the Church was held the first divine Liturgy. During 1993, there were major renovations, and in 1995 the temple was re-consecrated in honor of St. Michael the Archangel. In 2009 in the Church of St. Michael the Archangel was built a new iconostasis, designed by the artist Paccaloni Nicholas.
Today the Church houses the Holy of particle maturescope oak, which was donated by the Abbot of the temple in the time of the Commission of the pilgrimage. Another relic was the cross-reliquary covered with gold, in which the relics of some saints.
