In the small village of Bykovo, located in Nekouz district, Yaroslavl region, is Mologa Pokrovsky monastery. This monastery is the female and are actively restores and revives.
The Foundation of the monastery occurred in 1883. At that time the owner of the village Bykovo was major General Elizabeth – hereditary noblewoman and widow who has decided to build their own small estate convent.
Two years later, namely on 25 December 1885, the Holy Synod approved created intercession community. In late 1892 the community was transformed into the Pokrovsky monastery, which is also called Mologa, as it was located on the territory of the Mologa district.
It is known that in 1941 the Rybinsk water reservoir flooded more than 4,550 sq. m. of fertile arable land, was demolished over 770 villages, 80 churches, including Dorofeeva Whskey deserts, female Kirillo-Athanasian monastery, women's St. John the Baptist monastery. Mologa Pokrovsky monastery was not in the flood zone.
During the stay in power of the Soviet government in the area of location of the monastery was agricultural workshops, school, club, and also existing in the territory of the monastic cemetery large stadium. At the end of 1996 all the monastery's territory, and all that remained from the previously existing buildings were returned to the Russian Orthodox Church.
According to the decree of the Holy Synod of the ROC, published March 21, 2011, the intercession of the Church was again restored to its previous name – Mologa Pokrovsky convent.
In the area of the monastery has two churches, the first of which was consecrated in the name of the Holy virgin and is a single altar stone; its consecration took place in 1889. The second Church was a house Church, which was consecrated in the name of St. Sergius of Radonezh. This Church is located in the cell body and was consecrated in 1895. Today in the monastery of periodic regularity are due worship.
In the premises of the Pokrovsky monastery in storage are very important and revered shrines. The monastery also houses twenty particles of the relics of God's saints.
