In November 2008, the day of the Mari El Republic took place the solemn opening of the sculpture "the Tree of life" in Yoshkar-Ola Central Park of culture and rest. Sculptural composition represents the continuity of generations of the Mari people. The author of music and the national trio folk artist R. F. In the heart of the monument, symbolizing the spiritual life of the Mari people, includes three figures with musical instruments in their national costumes: boy with a drum, a middle-aged man with a pipe and the old man with the harp thyroid form (found only at Mari). In the center of the composition tree as a symbol of life or world tree, is often used in national ornament Mari embroidery.
