Greek children's Museum is located in the Central district of Athens, Plaka. The Museum was opened in 1987 and dedicated to the work of children aged 4 to 12 years. This Museum was established not only for the children but also for parents, teachers and anyone interested in the versatile development of children.

The Museum was founded by private initiative of a group of young scientists under the leadership of Sophia Roque-Mela, a teacher with music education. The Museum's mission is to enable children to explore the world through play and the objects around us, using all five senses. The Museum hosts a variety of themed activities, exhibitions and educational seminars. Topics tailored to the interests and needs of children, using available tools, audio and video materials. This theatre shows, and cooking classes, and puzzle games, and the lessons of art, and many other useful and interesting topics. Classes give children the opportunity to explore, to experiment, to think, create and develop their potential. Special attention is paid to the organization of cultural and educational programs for children with disabilities.

The Museum shows the number of works created by the children, and the exposition is constantly updated. Here you can see a collection of toys African child, which was donated to the Museum by the organization "save the world". Interesting exhibit is the first collection of drawings on paper children from a small Pakistani village of Kalash.

Greek children's Museum is a non - profit organization representing the public interest for educational and cultural purposes. The Museum is a member of the International Council of museums and the European Association of museums of the children.
