Wat Ratchabophit or, formally, Wat Ratchabophit Sachin of Macha Simara Ratcha Vara Maha Vihan - is part of the historical centre of the Thai capital. The temple complex is viharn (Central building), ubosot (room for special religious ceremonies) and gold-plated Chedi (stupa) at the center.

Gilded Chedi reaches a height of 43 meters, it is designed in the style of Sri Lanka and topped with a Golden Orb on it are figures of Buddha in the style of the Kingdom of Lopburi. In Vihara there are 10 doorways and window 28, they are elegantly decorated with mother of pearl and pearls. Outside the walls radiate splendor: stucco, tiles and painting. If you go over the bridge over the canal in the Northern part of the temple, you will see a gilt statue of a pig. The story goes that the bridge was built at the initiative of one of the wives of king Rama V, for a long time he had no name. However, given that this lady was born in the year of the pig, and gave him such a name. The statue appeared later in memory of his wife Rama V.
