Local history Museum in Azov is one of the main attractions of the city. It is located in the historical centre of the city, near the monument to Peter I, in the former City government, which was built in 1892 on the money merchants in the eclectic style.

Museum also has another unique paleontological exhibit is the skeleton of a dinotherium, which is 5 million years.

A significant part of the Museum exhibition is devoted to the don Cossacks fight for the Azov fortress. In the Museum you can see a large colorful diorama depicting the capture of the Turkish Azov in 1637 by the don Cossacks.
