Fortress Bergenhus was laid in the middle ages, but from the original buildings remained only fragments of the Foundation – all collapsed in the explosion of a ship in the harbour of Bergen in 1944.

After the war, were restored two buildings in the fortress – tower of Rosenkrantz, named after its architect, and the Palace of king Hakon of Hakonson, built in the XIII century in the style of English Gothic. Special attention deserves recreated Gothic hall of Hakone, where there are still hosts a variety of ceremony and celebrations.
