Romantic Kokořín castle is located in the protected forest Kocherginsky valley. This beautiful castle has many legends and is always inspired by creative people, who often mentioned her in his writings.
Once at the site of the castle Kokořín there was a powerful, well-fortified Gothic citadel knight Okorie. The fame of the inaccessibility of the local castle went far beyond the local lands. In 1320, the castle found out one of the richest men of his time – Haneke Burke. He bought the castle and began to survive and strengthen it. After his death, the castle was passed from hand to hand until it became the prey of robbers. "Forest brothers", of course, absolutely not worried about the condition of the walls and he paid no attention to their repair. Kokořín castle has acquired a bad name; it tried to break into remote roads to avoid becoming a victim of a robbery. When the robbers were gone, the castle has turned into picturesque ruins. In the XVII century it was completely safe, so its walls and then you could meet a thoughtful young men with notebooks and pencils, in silent awe look at all this splendor.
In 1894 the destruction of the castle had to stop as it was bought by businessman Vaclav Spacek, who gave the romantic view of the castle and made it his residence.
The castle is decorated with two towers, the highest of which you can climb to see the building of the Palace, the city walls and Belvedere. In the Palace are the collection of antique furniture, ceramics and weapons.
